Fletcher sits in the valley between Asheville and Hendersonville. Black Bear Coffee Co. and Hoopers Creek Wine Market are about a three-minute walk from Country Gardens, Ingles and United Grocery Outlet on Hendersonville Road are about six minutes by car, and Asheville Regional Airport is about twelve.

Three large investments are within a short drive: the approximately $400 million AVL Forward terminal project at Asheville Regional Airport, Pratt & Whitney's turbine airfoil campus, where the company says it has invested nearly $1 billion, and the $531 million widening of I-26 between Hendersonville and Asheville.
I-26 is being widened over 16.9 miles between Hendersonville and Asheville. The westbound lanes opened in July 2026, and NCDOT expects completion in early to mid 2027.
